join super/collider, Sail Britain and the Artist Expedition Society for a programme of events designed to inspire positive change for the oceans

in response to Sail Britain’s voyages this year, the event comprises a series of workshops, talks and exhibition exploring the themes of marine plastic pollution, ocean ecology and more to raise awareness of the importance of our marine environment. super/collider presents a talk by Sophie Thomas and sun printing workshop with super/collider co-director Melanie King

Sophie Thomas MCIWM is a founding Director or Thomas Matthews Communication Design and Trustee of WRAP UK. she is a recognised leader in the investigation and promotion of circular economy design and has worked and lectured around the world, and exhibited in many countries across Europe and Asia. she designs, writes and talks about designing out waste, is one of the first designers to become a chartered waste manager, and has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship at UAL. Sophie has been investigating the marine plastic pollution for over 10 years, travelling around the world to see its impact. she is currently working with Common Seas to find global design solutions with real impact

Melanie King is an artist and curator with a specific focus on astronomy. she is co-Director of super/collider, Lumen Studios and the London Alternative Photography Collective.  Melanie is currently studying towards a practice based PhD in Fine Art at the Royal College of Art
